Brow Confession

I have a confession - until this summer I had never gotten my eyebrows professionally done,  I definitely over plucked in high school (it was the mid 2000s after all) and once my little hairs grew back, I refused to let anyone touch them besides myself.  So the extent of my eyebrow care for the past 12 years has been to pluck stray hairs when needed and to use Glossier Boy Brow when I wanted my blonde brows to look as dark and bushy as possible.  Although this has worked fine for me (I have gotten some brow compliments in the past) I started to recently get envious of all the perfect microbladed fringe on IG.  And while I wasn’t ready to commit to a face tattoo… I was open to getting my brows shaped for the first time.

After some research for providers in my local area, I found the perfect spot and an esthetician, who has a proven track record of great brows so I booked an appointment with Elizabeth at True Beauty in Williamsburg, NY.

My experience was top notch.  Elizabeth worked quickly and with skill to first tint my brows, as I was looking to even out my sun bleached summer brows and to make them look fuller.  She then shaped my brows by waxing, dermaplaning and tweezing.

Afterwards she filled in my brows further with makeup to give them more shape and color.  To be honest since I’m not a full faced makeup person, I found the brow pencil and powder to be way too much on my face but I loved the tint and shape she gave me.  I felt like myself but more elevated, and I definitely felt my features were much more framed.

I’m already booked a touch up, and am excited to keep up with my new brow look!
